ARMA INFORM 2019: Living Up to Its Name
The ARMA INFORM 2019 conference sought to inform attendees about the future of technology – and it did just that. June 13, the main day of the conference, was jam-packed with a powerhouse lineup of information governance (IG) and records information management (RIM) presenters and panelists. Artificial intelligence (AI), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the rapidly approaching California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) were major topics of discussion. There were so many “must-see” sessions throughout the day.
A high point was having so many preeminent players in the IG arena under one roof at Princeton University, which certainly makes for a great backdrop. And, as a business partner, it’s always great to share the advances and investments in technology GRM is making to better service our clients and the local community.
The highlight of the day for me was the keynote speaker, Andrew Arruda, CEO and Co-Founder of Ross Intelligence. Andrew did an amazing job of explaining AI and machine learning, citing real world examples. Discussing how technology and jobs are evolving and how we as human population will interact with AI to better improve business outcomes was fascinating.
Bonus: A Day of Education
The current ARMA NJ team worked tirelessly to assemble the two-day conference. This year’s ARMA INFORM included a pre-conference day of professional development sessions and workshops. It was filled with practical training and insights perfect for those preparing for their Information Governance Certification, as well as industry newcomers and those looking to brush up on their IG and RIM knowledge.
GRM has proudly participated in educational panels in the past and continues to support the local ARMA chapters. We look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s conference.
